SNP Genotyping

Using an Applied Biosystems 7900HT Sequence Detection System, the Core performs allelic discrimination of SNPs, verifying homozygous and heterozygous calls against quantification curves collected during realtime PCR. We routinely accept ready-to-load plates from clients whose projects involve DNA from a number of different species.

Using an Illumina BeadStation 500, the Core is capable of genotyping 16 or 96 samples simultaneously for 96, 384, 786, or 1536 SNPs per DNA sample. The SNP panels may be custom designed with the assistance of Illumina or serverl SNP panels for linkage analysis in both human and mouse are available from Illumina.

Using an Illumina BeadStation 500 and a Tecan Freedom EVO robot, the Core performs Illumina Infinium Whole Genome Genotyping Assays. Illumina standard SNP panels (6,000 to 1 million SNPs per sample) and Sentrix single or multi-sample array BeadChips are used to generate hundresds of thousands of SNP genotypes per DNA sample for linkage, CNV, and LOH studies.
