Street Directions to 2560 MSRB II:

Entering via the front door of the Medical Sciences Research Building II:

  1. From the corner of Huron St. and Washtenaw Avenue, go North on Zina Pitcher Drive until it curves left to become Catherine St.
  2. Just before the intersection with Glen St., turn right onto West Medical Center Drive.
  3. About the second or third drive on the right goes up to the Medical Science Research Buildings I, II and III. The furthest of these is II (oddly enough). Parking may sometimes be found in metered spots along the driveway, or you may need to park in a lot back on Washtenaw.
  4. Enter MSRB II, enter the first door on the left, and go up the elevators to the second floor.
  5. Look for 2560. It's in the only 90-degree corner on the floor.

You may also enter the complex through Medical Science Building II on Catherine:

  1. From the corner of Catherine and Zina Pitcher Place (step 1, above), look for a sunken courtyard just north of Catherine (next to the Taubman Medical Library). Go down the steps.
  2. Enter MSII via a door to the right (the left door goes into Furstenburg Ctr).
  3. Continue along the long North/South hallway until you reach a door marked 'to MSRB Buildings'. Enter.
  4. Go down one flight of stairs, exit from the stairs with two right turns, through another door, then turn right yet again.
  5. Watch for a door on your left marked 'To the BRCF Cores' and follow those signs. You'll be on the second floor of MSRB II.
  6. Look for 2560. It's in the only 90-degree corner on the floor.

I know this seems unnecessarily complicated. It is. Blame the architects.

If you are a non-University client, you probably will be sending samples via mail or a package delivery service. It is NOT necessary to send samples on dry ice or even wet ice, as long as they are not contaminated with nucleases. We receive many samples via standard (non-express) postal service, and they sequence very well. If you want to be extra careful, you might use an express delivery service, but in our experience, it is not necessary.

Please note, however, that you should NOT send us lyophilized samples or anything requiring dilution or reconstitution. We can not perform any such custom manipulations.

Thank you for your interest in the DNA Sequencing Core.
